New Westminster, BC – The Conservative Party of Canada is fielding Lourence Almonte Singh as the official candidate for the New Westminster—Burnaby—Maillardville riding in the upcoming federal election. He will be pitted against NDP Peter Julian.
A proud Filipino-Indo-Canadian, Lourence’s life story embodies the vibrant diversity and rich cultural fabric of Canada. Born in Hong Kong to a Filipino mother and Punjabi father, Lourence immigrated to Canada at the age of three. He was raised in the local community, attending Holy Cross Catholic High School, and later earned a Business degree with a minor in Economics from Simon Fraser University (SFU) in 2019. While studying, he obtained his real estate trading services license and excelled as a Realtor and mortgage advisor.
His dedication to community service and business excellence was recognized when he was named one of the Top 25 Under 25 by the Surrey Board of Trade in 2015. His experience working for various companies in Hong Kong and Toronto equipped him with the practical expertise to address the challenges faced by residents of the riding. With ties to the community and a passion for public service, he is committed to being a strong voice for his constituents in Ottawa.
“I am honoured to represent the Conservative Party of Canada in this riding and stand firmly behind Pierre Poilievre and the Common Sense Platform,” said Lourence. “Our focus on affordability, economic growth, and practical solutions resonates deeply with the challenges faced by families, workers, and small businesses in our community.”
As a younger candidate, Lourence is particularly focused on engaging the youth and fostering their involvement in Canada’s democratic process. He aims to empower the next generation while addressing the priorities of all residents in the riding.
“This is my home, and I believe in building a community where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we can make a real difference.”
Lourence invites residents to join him in shaping the future of their riding by attending upcoming town halls, community events, and discussions about the challenges and opportunities ahead. He also calls for fellow Filipinos to support him; either to volunteer their time campaigning or financial donation.
